Three MCTA vans are wheelchair accessible. All appointments need to be scheduled in advance.

MCTA is operated under the direction of the Madison County Board of Commissioners, the County Manager, The Director of Community Services and the MCTA Advisory Board. The program is funded by the combination of Federal, State, and local funds, plus consumer contributions and fares from all service recipients.

Monetary value for HCCBG, Medical Transportation service is $34.57 per trip and $3.69 for General Trips. We would like to expand and make this service available to as many people in Madison County as possible. Voluntary consumer contributions and fares help make this possible. Voluntary consumer contributions/cost sharing are appreciated.

Some passengers may qualify to ride to medical appointments, through the Madison Co. Dept. of Social Services. Contact 828-649-2711 for more information about this service.

MCTA provides daily transportation services to all citizens of Madison County. MCTA coordinates transportation for human service agencies and for the general public of Madison County. Regular fares for non-program qualified riders are $5.00 in-county round trip, $6.00 Weaverville round trip and $12.00 Asheville round trip. A personal care assistant may ride with you at no charge.

When making reservations for your ride, please tell the dispatcher if a companion or PCA will be riding with you. You may travel with a service animal. Please inform dispatcher if you will be accompanied by a service animal.
